Melhart Music Center has been working with the schools of the Rio Grande
Valley for over 30 years and are thus familiar with the needs of the people.
Since different kinds of people spend their money differently, Melhart Music has
come up with three different plans with which you may use to acquire
an instrument for your child or children going into the band program. Often,
competitors attempt to make our plans sound confusing and difficult in order
to distract customers from talking to us, but the following will explain each
plan in detail so as to clear up any doubts or questions you may have:
MELHART MUSIC CENTER BAND DEPARTMENT EXPENSE PLANS
Plans are listed in order from least expensive to most expensive.
All plans carry a state sales tax just as with any purchase.
- CASH PLAN: This is easily the least expensive plan of the four. The cash plan is
for people who intend on paying for the instrument in full at the time of purchase.
This plan gives a heavy discount to the instrument and eliminates the need for monthly
payments towards the instrument. If you are unsure whether or not your child is planning
on sticking with the band program, don't worry. We will buy back the instrument less the
normal monthly rental rate as described in the RENTAL-PURCHASE PLAN of the instrument.
- MAY LAY-AWAY: This plan takes advantage of the cash sale price of the instrument, but splits the
cash price into four equal payments without interest. The store's lay-away policy
is the same as most: the first payment is due at the time of purchase, and the instrument
cannot be taken home until the final payment is made and the instrument is paid in full.
This is the plan to choose if you prefer the discounted price of the cash plan, but would
prefer splitting the cost to more manageable amounts. If this sounds like what you are
looking for, but the instrument is needed right away, then please see our RENTAL-PURCHASE plan below.
- RENTAL-PURCHASE PLAN: This plan is treated as a rental plan with an option to purchase
once your payments have met the price of the instrument. The is by far the most popular plan
available due to the fact that it offers a low monthly payment with the option to return
the instrument should the student decide to discontinue the band program. If payments are
continued, all money that has been paid per month for the instrument goes towards the purchase
of the instrument. The price of the instrument when using this plan is the manufacturers
retail price. Another great advantage of this plan is that it can be converted to a cash
sale at the cash price within 90 days of the initial sign-up. Even if you do not have enough
money, but would like to get the cash price, you can place the balance into Yamaha financing
and still be able to make monthly payments with the discount of a cash price (interest and
financing charges will apply). In essence, the convenience of a rental is combined with
the value of a purchase plan to provide maximum satisfaction for our customers.
